Do you like to be scared? 

Come visit the first Annual Forest of Fear in Sackets Harbor at Outskirts1812 Venue……. Three long weekends of horror and fun starting October 12th---an experience like no other! Kid zone, Zombie Hayride, live music, campfires, vendors, food trucks, drinks and a trip into the deep dark forest, much more too!

Family fun by day… and a thrill with a concert venue by night! Dress the kids up from 11-5 to get their wiggles out with a kid bounce zone, trek with the Outskirts goats to the deep forest or shoot Zombies in the field using nerf guns on the Hayride to keep them away. 

When the ghouls come out from 6-10 warm-up at the firepit while you wait to be escorted--into the deep dark forest!  A horror show that will have you screaming. Chill out with North Country’s finest bands from 6-9PM in the barn. 

9 bands, 9 haunting nights at Outskirts 1812 Sackets Harbor. A beautifully constructed barn and outside Venue space on 30 Acres. Join them one or every day of the last three weekends in October, running the 12th through the 14th; 19ththrough the 21st and 26th through the 28th.  Wear your best costume if you dare. 

Pick-up and drop off will be in the Village at 1812 Brew Pub in Sackets Harbor due to limited parking at the venue. Enjoy a complimentary free shuttle to and from Outskirts1812 starting at11AM running through 10PM telling you Ghost Stories of Dr. Samuel Guthrie, a founder of the property. Tickets can be purchased online and encouraged for each night at outskirts1812.com. FOREST OF FEAR WALKING TRAIL

Take a stroll on wickedly-fun walking trail featuring props, displays and exhibits of some animated scenes with many photo selfies along the way—sure to be a treat for adults and children. The walking trail and characters at night will be a little spooky for younger guests as there will be jump scares along the escorted walk. Guests may enter the trail multiple times and enjoy your time. This experience is included in your general admission ticket.

 

TREX WITH THE GOATS

Enjoy a walk down the trail with the Outskirts1812 tribe.  This event will take about an hour depending on the goats.  This will be from 1PM-2PM Each day.  Tip the herder as you learn about goats, take up-close pictures in nature and love on the tribe. This is weather permitting. Goats do not like rain.

 

ZOMBIE HUNT HAY RIDE

A hayride for kids to remember. Experience and help us save the goats from zombies. Take a ride on our tractor with armed nerf guns to stop the zombies from reaching our goats. The zombies will not shoot back and touching the actors is not permitted.

What is Outskirts 1812 1st Annual “Forest of Fear”?

 

Halloween is a time for harvest and coming together.  Kim and Nicole’s goal are a family-friendly Halloween experience for all featuring a Halloween-themed walking trail, live music, live characters, entertainment, a Zombie Wagon Ride, Goat experiences that families and friends will love and remember for years to come. Brining people together is our mission. As night falls the fun day events will come to an end and the ghouls will come out from afar. A nice fire awaits as you wait your turn to be escorted through the dark forest of staged lights with displays of scenes that will keep you on your toes.  Surprises are around every corner. Watch out!

 

A Zombie Tractor Wagon Ride awaits your brave youngers.  Nerf guns provided will keep those Zombies from reaching our 1812 Goat tribes. Save the Goats from the Zombies. 

 

We will have a add on Goat Yoga experience session for families and children for a $25 add on.

 

Our barn will have a beverage area of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase.  A food truck will be available or eat in the Village while waiting for the free shuttle at the 1812 Brew Pub to take you back and forth to our Outskirts Venue-tipping the Volunteer driver is encouraged. 

 

Each night our bands will be providing some ghastly good tunes (included in your ticket). 

 

For adults, the Halloween experiences are best viewed at dusk and night. We encourage guests to walk our Forest of Fear trail as many times as they would like and there is no limit to your stay at Outskirts 1812 until close. We hope you will spend an evening with us to make the most of your experience on the Outskirts of Sackets Harbor.

 

What are the details of the Zombie Hunt?

The Zombie Hunt is a timed experience where participants climb aboard on our hay Wagon being pulled by a tractor.

  • Zombies do not return fire and cannot touch you.

  • Scare scale: mild to intense depending on your fright factor. Can be a little scary especially for younger guests.

  • Parental discretion is advised.

  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Two children per adult max.

  • You are armed with a nerf gun and bullets

  • While costumes are permitted, masks are not. We are not responsible if your costume gets ripped, dirty or damaged.

  • Participants do not exit the wagon until ride is over

  • Please keep your phones tucked safely away.  We are not responsible for lost, dropped or damaged phones.

  • Guests may only shoot at our Zombies characters 

  • Under no circumstances are guests allowed to shoot at other riders or staff.

  • This is an outdoor experience, dress for the weather.

  • Safety first. We reserve the right at any time to remove riders who do not comply with wagon or Zombie rules.

  • All rides are first come, first serve. Zombie Hunt wagon rides ends at 5PM

 

What's included in my ticket?

  • Your admission ticket includes the full day at Outskirts 1812 11AM-10PM.  Enjoy free shuttle to and from the Village.  Shop with vendors, eat great food at the Food trucks, and enjoy refreshments and drinks. Bounce Houses, snacks, Wagon Hay ride shooting Zombies, Warm Camp Fire with smores for purchase, and the 1st annual Forest of Fear horror trail with live entertainment * and goats. You will have a blast. You will be out in nature and fresh air with family and friends with plenty of fall photo opportunities. There is no allotted time for the walking trail and you may stay as long as you like to walk the trail multiple times and take photos. You can enjoy an evening with us and get the most of your experience on the farm until close. Food and beverage available for purchase. Wear appropriate clothing as it is getting cold.

  • The Halloween experiences are best viewed at dusk and night.

  • Admission tickets can be redeemed for entry anytime on your selected date between 6pm – close.

  • *We encourage costumes and join in the fun.  

 

Is the walking trail scary? Does it have characters?

This is a family-friendly walking trail, which is best viewed at dusk or night, with displays and exhibits of your favorite Halloween themes. During the day there will not be live characters walking the trail. Our live costume night volunteers are not gory but will scare you at night. This is an experience appropriate for all ages.  However, the trail and characters at night may seem a little spooky to our younger guests so over 12 is encouraged. Characters may not be available in inclement weather and on some dates.

 

Please be considerate of our costume characters. While photos are encouraged with our farm friends, under no circumstances are guests allowed to touch, hit, slap, pull at or otherwise be unruly our characters or animals. 


 

Are there strobe lights?

On the walking trail, the Halloween displays and decorations are illuminated with accent lighting. The Zombie Hunt does use strobe lights, sound effects and black lights.

 

How long is the trail?

Our trex with the Goats is about a mile long. The guided Forest of Fear trail is a illuminated walking trail and approximately a quarter-mile long on uneven natural terrain with a variety photo op along the way. We encourage guests to walk the trail as many times as they like, while enjoying concessions, music and activities…all under the beautiful night sky.

Make a night out of it and enjoy a unique Halloween experience at Outskirts 1812 and listen to live music, and capture and share some Instagrammable fall or Halloween photos. Please be sure to tag us, too.

We’ll be serving up some ghoulishly good food on the food trucks and seasonal warm and cold beverages from our Bar. Food and beverages available for purchase.

 

Can I take pictures?

Yes! Outskirts 1812 is a great spot for photos and our we will feature lots of photo-worthy displays. Please feel free to post and share on social media. Don’t forget to tag us.

What if it rains?

The event is rain or shine. There is lots of fun to be had, even in your rain boots and slickers. Some experiences may be limited in the rain (goat trexing). Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable to another person.

 

What's the refund policy?

All tickets are non-refundable and must be used on the date selected at purchase. They are, however, transferable to another person should you run into a conflict.

 

Do I have to pay for parking?

No, parking is free in the Village and a shuttle is provided every 30 minutes to take you back and forth. The shuttle will begin at 11AM and last call is at 10PM

 

Can I bring in food or drinks?

We kindly request that you leave your coolers, outside food and drinks at home. We have an onsite food truck with plenty of options along with a variety of adult and non -alcoholic drinks, hot and cold for purchase.
