FAQS

What is Outskirts 1812 2nd Annual Forest of Fear "Forest of 1812 Lost Souls"?

Halloween is a time for harvest and coming together.  Kim and Nicole’s goal are a family-friendly Halloween experience for all featuring a Halloween-themed walking trail. A nice fire awaits as you wait your turn to be escorted through the dark forest of staged lights with displays of scenes that will keep you on your toes.  Surprises are around every corner. Watch out!

Our barn will have a beverage area of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase.  A food truck will be available or eat in the Village.

For adults, the Halloween experiences are best viewed at dusk. We hope you will spend an evening with us to make the most of your experience on the Outskirts of Sackets Harbor.

Is the walking trail scary? Does it have characters?

This is a family-friendly walking trail, which is best viewed at dusk or night, with displays and exhibits of your favorite Halloween themes. However, the trail and characters at night may seem a little spooky to our younger guests so over 12 is encouraged.

Please be considerate of our costume characters. While photos are encouraged with our farm friends, under no circumstances are guests allowed to touch, hit, slap, pull at or otherwise be unruly our characters or animals.

Are there strobe lights?

On the walking trail, the Halloween displays and decorations are illuminated with accent lighting. The Forest of Fear does use strobe lights, sound effects and black lights.

How long is the trail?

The guided Forest of Fear trail is an illuminated walking trail and approximately a quarter-mile long on uneven natural terrain. You will have a variety of photo op along the way all under the beautiful night sky.
